Final Exam Part 2

Story #2:

Saturday Night in front of Panzer's Department Store and 19 year old lost his life. It was shortly after Timothy Milan tried to steal two sweaters from the store by stuffing them in his pants. When trying to escape Milan got caught by a guard who held onto Milan in a headlock while police came.

"The gentleman who held onto Milan was just being a good citizen." says police spokesman Michael Williams.

Milan tried to fight the man and get away that was when the man held him tighter and covered his mouth. Milan fought with everything he could and bite the guy. The guard never let up and held him down.

"Milan should never have run from the guard, we believe he had a run in with police in the past." says Williams

Shortly before the police arrived Milan fell the the ground unconscious.  Milan had died from the lack of oxygen in his brain. The man holding him in a headlock had stopped the flow of blood to his head.

"I was a case of excusable homicide." Says Williams

The man who killed Milan got out of it because he was considered to be doing his job as a guard for the store.

"We are sorry for the death of the young man, it was never our intentions for these kinds of things to happen. We contract out the guard services and we abide by their policies, we are currently looking at revising our policies regarding shoplifting. So we can keep these kind of things from happening." Say Panzer's Department Store manger Paula Smith

The death of Milan was a tragic event and people still believe that the guards should be charged.

"We saw him start running and the guard was right behind him. We went outside to see what was going to happen and we saw the boy get fragged to the ground. They were fighting, but it looked like all four of them were pulling at him and he finally stopped moving." Says eye witness Sherry Carter.

His family plans to press charges as they mourn the death of their son.

"We plant o bring civil charges against the man who did this to my son. Our lawyers are already filling papers and we encourage the courts to revisit this ruling from a criminal perspective." Says Timothy Milan's Father, Eric Milan
